Introducing a brand new program tailored for beginner to intermediate percussionists! This spring and summer, join teacher Arturo for a super fun hand-drum and percussion class. As a group, participants will explore healthy technique, rhythm patterns, and enjoy making a bunch of organized noise together on Mondays! Music and artists that have inspired some of the rhythms presented in this class include afro-cuban beats, ska music, and We Will Rock You by Queen. Of course the sky is the limit with Arturo at the helm of this class, so shake rattle and roll your way over to PMM on Mondays at 7:00pm. Participants may bring their own hand drum (djembe, bongo, conga) or borrow rhythm sticks or shakers which we keep at PMM…We’ll also have buckets and drum sticks on site to borrow or to buy and take home.

Arturo has been performing and teaching drums and percussion all over the world! As a young child in Chile he learned different techniques, genres and styles like jazz fusion, rock, metal, latin jazz, bossa nova, among others. Now in Canada, Arturo is excited to continue his musical journey and pass on his knowledge to the next generation of musicians.
