Show Team Offerings
Intro To Musical Theatre
A crash course on releasing your inner musical theatre nerd! Paula is an amazing vocal instructor and also has a ton of local musical theatre credits.
From Grease to Hamilton, Paula will explore a wide range of musicals.
Participants can expect:
- Explore singing a range character voices and emotions.
- Gain some insider tips on the ins and outs of being a musical theatre professional.
- Belt out your favourite musical theatre tunes.
Intro To Extreme Vocals
Since starting with PMM, Kelsey’s unique approach to teaching extreme vocals has been one of our most popular offerings.
Any fan of heavy metal or rock will immediately recognize the growls and screams that they have been trying to mimic for years. Kelsey will teach you how to make those sounds, and how to do it properly to ensure the long term sustainability of your voice.
Note for parents: if your kids are going to be doing it anyway, make sure they are doing it safely.
Participants can expect:
- An introduction to the various basic extreme vocal techniques: false chords and fry screams.
- Learn how to engage your core and glute muscles for proper projection.
- Learn proper breath support to keep your notes for longer.
- Learn how to avoid putting a strain on larynx, the cause of most vocal issues.
Bucket Drumming Workshop
Bucket Drumming is one of the easiest ways to get started in the world of percussion and drums.
Our world traveling percussion instructor is ready to get you started on your journey with making sick beats.
Optional: Djembe drum circle available for extra rental fee.
Participants can expect:
- Learn the basic beats that can be made with very rudimentary instruments.
- Expand on the basic beats while keeping in sync with a larger group.
- Ways to expand the sonic possibilities by adding other homemade instruments.
Small Hands Piano Club
What do gloves, bikes, violins and screwdrivers all have in common? They come in different sizes. The same couldn’t be said about the piano, until now!
Teacher Sarah will perform a demonstration of the Narrow Keys Athena, a remarkable new instrument.
The Athena features a 5.5″ octave, compared to the standard 6.5″ octave, opening up intervals that are usually impossible for small handed people.
Attendees will get a (small) hands-on trial of the instrument. Most find there is no going back.
